Management Team
David Fairbrothers
Mr. Fairbrothers co-founded SportsPage in October, 2006. He graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2007 with a degree in psychology and a minor in anthropology. David was a four year player on the school's football team, and accordingly has first-hand experience in the recruiting process.
David focuses his efforts predominately on fundraising, sales, and overall strategic direction. He also serves as the conduit that helps all the aspects of SportsPage work well together. More specifically, David spends a great deal of time doing market research, innovating new revenue strategies, as well as new market opportunities. This helps him drive the sales effort at SportsPage.
Mr. Fairbrothers also sits on the Board of Directors of the Thomas Jefferson Youth Football League in central Virginia. The TJYFL is focused on providing every child the opportunity to play and learn the game of football.
T. Gregory Ames, III
Mr. Ames co-founded SportsPage after receiving his MBA from the Tuck School of Business. Prior to attending Tuck, Greg worked for, or co-founded, three technology startups. Most recently, he was a member of the founding team of ArrowPoint Communications, which went public in March 2000, and was purchased by Cisco Systems for nearly $6 billion three months later. Greg brings significant experience in product R&D, engineering management, and project management, along with a proven track record of entrepreneurial success. He began his career after graduating from Dartmouth College with an AB in Computer Science.
Zachary Yarbrough
Mr. Yarbrough co-founded SportsPage in 2006. Zac was a 2004 graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in psychology. While at UVA, Zac started for three years on the Cavalier offensive line and was nominated both All-ACC and Academic All-ACC. He has just finished tenure as a graduate assistant coach for the Cavaliers. Zac brings extensive knowledge of the college coaching industry to SportsPage.
Zac leads efforts targeted towards building strong relationships between the SportsPage team and users, both current and potential. As part of these initiatives, Zac spends a significant amount of time finding new site users on established platforms. Most importantly, Zac engages users of SportsPage to help them derive the most value out of site features. Zac is able to become a virtual consultant, helping these users learn how to better use SportsPage. These initiatives are closely tied to those of fellow team member, Kase Luzar.
Kase Luzar
Mr. Luzar co-founded SportsPage and is a 2003 graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in Spanish. He also holds two Master's degrees from U.Va. in Social Foundations and Student Affairs. Kase came to the university and its football team in 1999 as a walk-on tight end. He left as a two-year starter at fullback and shares the U.Va. Football record for most games played in a career. He was also a four-year, Academic All-ACC player. Kase comes to the SportsPage team after spending three years working in college athletics. The first year was spent as a graduate assistant coach with the Cavaliers and the last two in recruiting strategies and operations. Kase's personal and professional experiences have given him great insight into the college recruiting and admissions processes.
Kase heads day-to-day operations at SportsPage. He works closely with the team on matters ranging from administrative matters to site development, to marketing. Additionally, one of Kase’s primary responsibilities is leading SportsPage’s recruiting education program. As a former recruited athlete as well as a former collegiate recruiter at the University of Virginia, Kase provides insight to marginally understood topics that make up the recruiting process.
